How did you end up at Layhill? As a busy single parent, I have the tendency to wait until the last minute. In classic style, I waited to the last minute to find a summer camp for Jeremiah last year. Late last May, a flyer for 5 Star Kids Camp come home in Jeremiah’s bookbag. I came to check out the camp and really liked Ms. Angie and how much fun the proposed activities would be. During camp, Jeremiah enjoyed himself tremendously and the staff handled his occasional impulsive nature with grace and patience. At the Parents Nights last year, we really enjoyed how hospitable the staff was and I liked that Jeremiah was learning about Christ at camp. We started coming shortly after 5 Star Kids Camp ended last year.

But my period of employment was also a blessing because it allowed me to go back to school for a semester to help further my career.
What is your dream ministry? (What has God placed on your heart?) Starting a children’s ministry for individuals with special needs. A lot of times, families with children with special needs will stay away from church because they are not sure how their children will be received, transportation or mobility concerns, or if their child is medically fragile, etc. I’d love to see a ministry that is willing to work with families at their level of care and provide the Gospel as well.
